COVID RELIEF

June 2020

The recent floods of July 2023 in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh in Northern India, due to heavy rainfall have wreaked havoc, leaving communities devastated and in dire need of assistance.

In Himachal Pradesh, over 700 roads have been blocked due to the floods and landslides. Rescue operations led by the Indian Army and the National Disaster Response Force are underway. Flash floods and landslides have caused extensive damage to infrastructure, including roads and buildings. The region has witnessed heavy rainfall equivalent to a month’s worth in just a single day, leading to severe disruptions.

OUR CONTRIBUTION TOWARDS FLOOD RELIEF

In Uttarakhand, the situation remains grim, with heavy rains persisting for several days. Key routes have been blocked due to landslides and flood-like conditions, and the flooding has disrupted daily life, cutting off villages and causing significant hardships for the affected communities.

Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care, a mission that  Diatrends is closely associated with is leading a massive relief effort in the affected regions, by providing immediate aid and relief to those affected by the floods. And our Director Sunit Kothari himself is part of a team of volunteers of the mission that have gone to these calamity stricken areas to distribute life essentials to the people badly affected.
